Our Story
Situated in the heart of Matakana the Rusty Pelican Restaurant and Rusty Sportsbar has been serving locals and holiday makers since 1998. Our locally owned and family run restaurant and bar is the cornerstone in this bustling area.
Starting life as the Matakana Service Station Workshop Daniel Baturic Snr developed it into the Rusty Pelican Restaurant and Rusty Pelican Sports Bar (formerly the Tui Bar) providing a family friendly restaurant and separate bar for sports fans.
The day to day operations are now looked after by Daniel Baturic Jnr and Prabash & Anu Wijesinghe.
The Rusty Pelican's extensive menu includes our world famous Pizza's, delicious burgers, fresh seafood, hearty steaks as well as nachos, pasta, healthy salads and our decadent desserts! There is something for everyone.
